Veterans Review and Appeal Board

The Veterans Review and Appeal Board Canada is a Canadian government agency responsible for hearing reviews and appeals by disabled and War Veterans Allowance decisions by Veterans Affairs Canada. The Board assures the benefits entitled to members of the war veterans, Canadian Forces and members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Although the Board reports to Parliament through the Minister of Veterans Affairs, the Board is an independent agency. The Board was created in 1995, and is governed by the Veterans Review and Appeal Board Act and the Veterans Review and Appeal Board Regulations. The board is headed by Acting Chairman Tom Jarmyn, since April 26, 2015 and a Deputy Chairman, from a permanent Board of 25 members and as many temporary members as deemed necessary.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Veterans Review and Appeal Board )〕 The head office is located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island in the Daniel J. MacDonald Building. The vast majority of individuals appealing their cases to the Board are represented by lawyers of Veterans Affairs Canada's Bureau of Pensions Advocates.
